Well I read "Got Fight" 4 times, does this mean I'm 4x dumber than I was before I read the book? Question answered, I have already ordered a copy of your new book and will have it in early August.

This year, at a Combat SAMBO award presentation I was given your UFC action figure as a special award, "The Griffy". this was the first and only "Griffy" to be given out in the 31 year history of the school. As a SAMBO instructor someone counted the number of falls I take in one night, 43. So thats 43 falls a day x 5 days a week x 45 - 50 weeks a year. I can't count that high, but I think it's a lot of falling on my head. What am I worried about, you probably can't do the math either.

You are one funny sonofabitch and you are a great ambassador for the sport. I am retired Navy so all I have to do is workout and pursue culture (tv, video games) every day. Because of you I even volunteer to teach kids now...okay so I teach Combat SAMBO and Krav Maga, I'm still teaching them. Without the inspiration of your book, I might actually have asked for money...man did your book make me stupider.

"The Wire" is the best tv show ever created, Firefly comes in second.

Hi Forrest Griffin! First off, my husband is a huge fan of yours. Chad loves UFC and you are his favorite fighter. He is currently deployed to Afghanistan as active duty airborne infantryman. I was hoping you could help me out. His birthday is coming up in August and I wanted to send him a special carepackage of a signed autographed photo of you. It would really mean alot. Can you make this possible for me??
    A proud ArmyWife--Kayla

Forrest. I'm don't wanna brag but I think I'm going to anyway because I don't give a . I AM one of your greatest fans. I can prove this because it may put me into the upper level of your greatest fans because I named my youngest son after you. Forrest James Karlson is now 1 year 4 months and seems to have some of your(and my) attributes of the never back down mentality. His older brother Boston is 3 and he has recently been taking some nasty toddler beatings. It is amazing how every time, crying or not he gets up and get's back at it. I don't really condone sibling scraps but it gonna happen whether or not I'm watchin'. Anyway good luck with your recovery and keep going foward(why stop now?)!! P.S. Just read your book recently. It helped me define myself finally. I'm a mix between Clint Eastwood and that geek that wouldn't back down from your buddies. Thanks man.

I want you to know 2 things. 1 is I just read your book. It was pretty damn funny. 2 is that it takes books way to long to get to Iraq from Amazon.com. and 3 is that your goofy ass needs to heal soon and get back in the cage. It would kick ass to spar with you sometime. Well, when I get back from this deployment at least.

Hey Forrest I am a big fan. I grew up in the northeast Georgia mountains with John Grantham. I just recently found out that you were putting him through the police academy and that the two of you were really good friends. I had no other way to inform you of this but unfortunately John passed away yesterday and I wasn't sure if anyone had informed you. I hate the be the bearer of bad news but I felt you needed to know.

Hey, Forrest! It was cool seeing you in person at the Expo. I've been wanting to meet you for years. I even got excited the moment I found out you'd be fighting at UFC 114. Was so glad I bought those tickets but yeah you got hurt. I know these things happen. I bought your book and got in the Borders line an hour early. Unfortunately there were so many people crowded around by the time I got my turn to you, I didn't get to say anything to you or get a picture with you. I helped take a picture of you and another fan but didn't get any help in return. But it's all good. I'll just try next time. It was still cool seeing one of my heroes in person. Keep doing what you do. I have much respect for you.

Aye Forrest, Billi Stalder here, big fan. Wanted to introduce to you a supplement called ALKALETE. It is an acid neutralizer that buffers all excess acids in the body. What it has done for me is delayed my fatigue level, decreased my recovery time 2 about 2 hrs. as opposed to 2 days, and makes it so I get no soreness.. All these are due to lactic acid build up. Alkalete buffers it, basically tuning it into the same chemical compound as water, and flushes it outta the body. Alkalete is a mineral that neds to be broken down molecularly to become Alkalete. It also replenishes electrolytes and increases the bodys absorbtion rate.. Neutralizing all the excess acids, brings up the alkaline levels and virtually creates a pH balance in the body. Teh company Yoli has the patent on this stuff. I would like to get you a bottle to try for yourself along with more information. There is also a HEALTH beverage and a sports active blast called FUN. There is no sugar, not pasteurization, and no artificial anything. I am on Facebook and can be reached through my FB page or my email link form there if you are interested. This company is about 8 months old and is circulating fast. You will be amazed at what the Alkalete will help you achieve. You have nothing to lose. feel free to hit me up anytime. I hope you actually get these messages because you could benefit greatly. Take it all to the next level. I swear by this. good luck to you with your future accomplishments... Billi Stalder

wats up man......just picked up your book today and i also finished reading it today cuz i couldnt put it down. i feel the same way about this book as you do of Hemingway. Mainly because this is a book about being a real man, because some people dont understand what being a real man is. This book also shows that not any person can step in that ring, you have to be a different kind of person mentally to be able to close the cage door and step in front of a guy who wants to beat the out of you. i give you much respect for calling out all the dudes out there that think they can just step in the ring and fight. it takes time, sweat, blood, heart, and the mental capacity to take a beating and be able get up stronger. i will take everything you said in that book and use it in my life and training. hopefully one day i can see you fight or even meet you in person. After reading this book you have taken wanderlei silva's spot as my favorite fighter. i know you'll come back stronger after this last setback. The best of luck in the rest of your career.

Just picked up "Got Fight?" and couldn't put it down. (Read it overnight, disappointed to turn the last page.) Awesomely entertaining, and not just for those who aspire to follow in Forrest's footsteps. I couldn't help but notice that "Super Troopers" is one of Forrest's favorite movies. If ever in the Newburgh, NY area, I'll be happy to hoist a Newcastle with him at the bar that I own. It's the one used in the opening scenes of Super Troopers... seriously. Glad to know that he enjoyed what has become a cult classic, and I wish him much continued success in the octagon. It'll be different... watching him dominate opponents, and now knowing that his literary skills are quite outstanding, as well.

    Loser-noun
Def:someone who takes over Forrest Griffen's website filling it with his ridiculous thoughts and pointless drivel.
    Example:see Jersey Mac
Used in a sentence: Jersey Mac is a f**k**g loser!

Seriously man-GET A LIFE! You are F**K**g it up for everybody! But I guess that's how a**holes like you get off!

Just read my previous post and realized that certain words have been censored so apologise if it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. I'll keep the language clean from now on.
By the way, is anyone else concerned for 'Jersey Mac's' state of mind?
Anyway, good luck with the recovery Forrest, must be rough being injured but at least you'll get time to heal and return to the Octagon with your usual and well impressive p### and vinegar.

I found a copy of Got Fight on Amazon.com. I hate Jersey Mac! He has taken over this message board. He is dull & boring. Diaries & journals are great for putting down your useless thoughts and poetry. That's what all the fat ugly chicks that can't buy a date do in high school! Just a thought psycho douche-bag A**Hole!

Hey there dude, emailing from New Zealand (MMA is pretty small down here but the fans are loyal - we have to be, it's en hard to get any info on what's going on.
Wanted to say that I am a fan of your fighting style (don't talk no but don't take no either and always give it your en all in the ring) and also a fan of your book. A lot of fighters tend to talk a lot of /disrespect each other which is never a good look for the sport so it's great that there are fighters like yourself who are as tough as a coffin nail but also a decent bloke.
Really enjoyed the book - am a writer myself and have read many sport's bio's and yours was a refreshing change from the usaual 'look at how en cool I am and how everyone else sucks' bull. Well written, funny as hell with some really good insight's into a fighters life. Your book, 'A Fighters Heart', and 'The Fight' by Norman Mailer are all favourites of mine (if you haven't read The Fight you should check it out, it's a en good read.
Anyway, glad to join the site and wish you all the best with your career. Suck's your injured and in recovery at the moment but you'll be back and full of the usual and vinegar I'm sure.
As they say here in NZ,

    Kia Kaha (Stay Strong)
